The work
The panels on a roof are warranted for twenty five years. The inverter almost never lasts that long, and when it goes the whole array stops earning, because nothing on the roof can feed the house until the DC coming off it is converted. A dead inverter is the single most common reason a system that worked for years suddenly makes nothing at all. We confirm the inverter is genuinely the failure rather than a symptom of something upstream, check whether the unit is still inside its manufacturer warranty, and source a replacement that matches the array it is being asked to run. Fitting it means isolating the system safely, removing the old unit, mounting and wiring the new one, configuring it for the string layout it is serving and the utility it is exporting to, then confirming the array is back to the output it should be making.
What is included
- Confirmation that the inverter is the failure and not a symptom of a fault upstream
- A warranty check before you pay for a replacement
- A replacement sized and configured for the array it is running
- Safe isolation, removal, mounting and wiring of the new unit
- Configuration for your string layout and utility, then an output check
How we run it
- 01
Confirm the diagnosis
Strings tested at the inverter so a wiring or panel fault is ruled out before a unit gets replaced.
- 02
Warranty check
Serial and install date against the manufacturer's term, because a covered unit should not be paid for twice.
- 03
Source and fit
A matched replacement mounted, wired and configured for your array and your utility.
- 04
Bring it back online
Monitoring reconnected and output checked against what the array should be producing.
Asked about this
How long do inverters usually last?
String inverters generally run for years rather than decades, and most carry a manufacturer warranty well short of the panel warranty. Yours may still be inside it, which is the first thing we check.
Do I have to use the same brand?
Not necessarily, but the replacement has to suit the string layout on your roof and the monitoring you already use. We go through that with you before ordering.
