The work
Solar companies sell the system and then need a crew that can put it on the roof properly. We go out as that crew. We set out the array to the approved layout, land the mounts on rafters rather than on sheathing, flash and seal every penetration, build the racking, hang the panels, run the DC wiring and terminate into the inverter. Everything is torqued to spec, every conductor is supported and every transition is made in the right fitting, because the inspector will look and because the array has to sit through twenty years of weather. We are used to working as a subcontracted install crew, which means we turn up with our own equipment, we keep the site tidy and we hand the job back documented so the company that sold it can commission and close it out. Homeowners who already have a system quoted can send us the plan too.
What is included
- Array set out to the approved layout with mounts landed on rafters
- Every penetration flashed and sealed before the racking goes on
- Racking built and torqued to the manufacturer's spec
- DC wiring run, supported and terminated into the inverter
- Photographs and notes handed back for the commissioning file
How we run it
- 01
Plan review
We go through the layout, the racking system and the inverter spec before we get on the roof so nothing is decided up there.
- 02
Mounts and flashing
Rafters located, mounts landed, every penetration flashed and sealed so the roof is right underneath the array.
- 03
Racking and panels
Rails built and squared, panels hung and clamped, everything torqued to spec.
- 04
Wiring
DC run, supported and terminated, with the transitions made in the correct fittings.
- 05
Handover
Site cleared, photographs and notes sent over for the commissioning and inspection file.
Asked about this
Do you sell systems as well as install them?
Most of our install work is done for solar companies who have already sold and designed the system. If you are a homeowner with a quote in hand, call us and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right crew for it.
Do you carry your own equipment?
Yes. We arrive with the ladders, lifts and tooling the job needs so the company we are working for is not supplying them.
